I'm Kelly Hawes, an award winning independent celebrant based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. I specialise in writing and performing unique ceremonies for wedding celebrations, renewal of vows, commitments and naming or welcoming ceremonies for children.
I can travel throughout Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and a little further (dependent on distance travel costs may apply). I have achieved the NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Ceremonies - currently the highest certification within the UK for this industry. I am insured and a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants.
I love celebrating your uniqueness by offering a service to really compliment your day and your personality. Whether you want the ceremony to follow a theme or if you just want to include some of your history and family stories, I would love to hear your ideas and can help you to find content and wording to your requirements.

In this video I answer many questions about using a Celebrant and what I can offer for your Ceremony.

Why use a Celebrant for your Ceremony?
After meeting you face to face (ideally at your chosen venue) I will be able to write bespoke wording that is personal to you. Together we can be creative and include all sorts of elements that will bring out your unique personality. You could include poetry, readings from a favourite book and your choice of music. If you have someone who would like to be involved on the day ask them to perform one of the readings for you.
On the day I will conduct and oversee the smooth running of the ceremony to ensure it is everything you hoped it would be. You will also receive a full presentation script of the full ceremony as a keepsake of the day.
Unlike a registrar, a celebrant is allowed to add religious content if you wish. I feel this is a particularly great opportunity to unite couples that have different religious backgrounds all in one ceremony, you can choose elements to please you both.
A ceremony written and performed by a celebrant really does enable you to celebrate your day your way!
There are no restrictions to venues as no licenses are required, and there is no restriction to the time of day. We can perform something traditional or do it your special way.
Why not add the element of a symbolic action such as lighting a unity candle, using sand to symbolise two becoming one or the celtic tradition of hand tying. These are just a few suggestions, maybe you have seen another action or ritual you would like to include.

Here's a video to show an example of a Sand Ceremony. In this video we have included the Bride and Grooms children too, but of course you can do this just as a couple too! >>>
